Christmas on the North End
December 2 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 3:00 pm, repeating until December 3, 2022
On the first three days in December, Island Farm will host “Christmas on the North End,” an event focused on holiday traditions in the early days on Roanoke Island.
Costumed interpreters will share how the Etheridge family may have celebrated the Christmas holiday in the mid-1800s. The homeplace will be decorated inside and out, while interpreters demonstrate mid-19th century traditions of food, celebration, and holiday craft. New activities plus candle making and grapevine wreath making will be the highlights along with the opportunity to visit and have pictures made with St. Nicholas inside the historic homeplace!
The event takes place between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on December 1, 2, and 3. Admission for the event is $10 for those ages 4 and older; children ages 3 and under are free. Island Farm is located at 1140 N US Highway 64, just north of Manteo on Roanoke Island. Island Farm is a living history site, dedicated to interpreting pre-Civil War life on the Outer Banks.
Island Farm is owned and operated by Outer Banks Conservationists, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1980 to protect natural, cultural, and historic resources along North Carolina’s Outer Banks through education and conservation of a sense of place.
