Fishers & Farmers
August 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until September 28, 2022
In the 19th century, the occupation of “farmer” was often synonymous with, “fisherman” on Roanoke Island. Using the bounty of the earth and the sea, Islanders were able to thrive with little connection to surrounding areas. In this program, participants will learn about popular catches and ports in the 1800’s, and how a fisherman would hang net.
