Island Farm is a living history museum that tells the story of families who lived on Roanoke Island in the 1850s.
Visitors can explore the Farm’s ten acres and immerse themselves in the history of the Outer Banks. Island Farm invites the visitor to engage in history, by exploring the sites historic buildings, learning about hearth cooking, agriculture, interacting with the sites heritage breed livestock, and watching historic trades demonstrations.
There are new activities happening at Island Farm every single day. Check out our Events Calendar to see what’s happening!
You’ll find unique programs and live demonstrations including blacksmithing, traditional agriculture, food preservation, hearth cooking, weaving, woodworking, various livestock interactions, and so much more! This is hands-on history! Check out our Island Farm events page for more information.
